Drishti(“we”) treats a date and time of birth as sensitive personal information, because it is. This policy describes what actually happens to your data today — not what a template says might happen — and your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What stays on your device
The entire numerology section — your profile, name compatibility, business names and career guidance — is computed in your browser. Your name and date of birth are never transmitted to us for those tools. Your unlock tier is likewise stored only in your browser's local storage.
What is sent to our servers
- Kundli and Kundli matching: date, time and place of birth, and an optional name, are sent to our own server so the chart can be computed. The astronomy library needs a server to run in; there is no third party in this path.
- City search: the text you type into a birth-place field, matched against an offline dataset on our server.
- Standard request logs kept by our hosting provider, which include IP address.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not share birth details with advertisers.
- We do not currently persist your charts to a database — a generated chart lives in your browser session and is gone when you close the tab.
- We do not have user accounts yet, so we hold no email addresses or passwords.
- We do not accept palm photographs or any other image upload at this time.
Planned features
Accounts, saved charts and an AI reading layer are planned. When they arrive this policy will be updated before those features are enabled, and saving a chart will be something you explicitly opt into rather than a default.
Payments
Payments are currently in demo mode and no money changes hands. When live, card data will be handled entirely by our payment partner (Razorpay) and we will store only the payment reference and what it unlocked. We will never see or store full card details.
Your rights under the DPDP Act
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected or updated.
- Have your data erased, and your account deleted once accounts exist.
- Withdraw consent for any optional processing, as easily as you gave it.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf.
- Raise a grievance with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved.
Children
The service is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly process a child's data. If you believe a child's birth details have been submitted, contact us and we will remove them.
Contact
For any privacy request or grievance, contact support@example.com. We aim to respond within seven days.
